About our President, Rev. Rick Mitchell
The President of Sports & Rec Plus is Rev. Rick Mitchell. Rick was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He attended college at Belmont College in Nashville, Tennessee and Seminary at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He has served churches as Pastor, Minister of Music, Minister of Youth, Minister of Education, Minister of Recreation, and Church Planter.
Rick is married and lives with his wife, Barbara, in Unionville, Virginia. They have one daughter, Emily, who is married and lives with her husband in Ooltewah, Tennessee. Rick and his wife also served as missionaries under appointment with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention in the Philippines from 1985-1993.
Rick is founder and only president of Sports & Rec Plus since it’s beginning in 1995.
He is a fun-filled guy and will soon be committed to an institution for the humorously insane.
