This is Church Recreation 101. Workshop participants will learn the basics of a recreation ministry in a local church. They will learn how to start a ministry from scratch as well as how to develop an already existing one. In this workshop class members will learn how to use sports, drama, trips, camping, retreats, arts & crafts, and social activities for outreach, evangelism, church growth, and church planting.

Sharing Christ through sports has never been easy. This workshop will center on how to intentionally plan to reach players and their families with the Gospel. Some of the topics to be covered are: why have sports in the church, enlisting and training coaches, dealing with problem athletes, how to reach players with the Gospel, and can you be a Christian and be competitive?

Reaching today’s young person is a real challenge. Participants in this workshop will learn the vital components that make up a vibrant ministry to youth. In addition, they will learn ways of ministering to youth and their parents as well as how to train youth for leadership roles after their graduation from the youth group.

Getting ready for that youth or adult retreat? This workshop will take you through the retreat planning process. Everything from site selection to after retreat follow-up, is in this workshop. Learn how to plan a program, find a speaker, negotiate a contract, set up the schedule, determine cost, and do publicity that will make people want to attend.

A well planned Day Camp with a thorough program of follow-up can be one of the best outreach tools your church will use in the summer months. In this workshop, participants will learn the “ins and outs” of planning a day camp including site selection, publicity, program planning, counselor training, field trips, legal matters, follow-up, and more.

Looking for ways to minister to the kids and youth in your church and community this summer? In this workshop, you will learn how to plan and implement all types of recreation activities that will interest and involve those out of school for summer vacation. Participants will also learn how to find workers, plan activities, publicize the summer ministry and incorporate evangelism and follow-up into the activities.

Are you looking for new and creative ways to reach people in your community using recreation plus many other types of outreach? This workshop will give the participants more ideas to reach people than they ever imagined.

In this workshop you will learn the major driving forces affecting the lives of the people you will be ministering to and what the Bible has to say about these forces and how to reach these folks. Good for all ministers.

9.) Church Recreation Facilities 

In this workshop you will learn how to dream, plan, and build recreation facilities that will help your church reach it's community for Christ.  Emphasis is given to developing recreation ministry as well as establishing policies, guidelines, and procedures that will enable you to reach people.
