RECREATION WITHOUT A BUILDING

Are you looking for space for recreation activities in your church?  Want to build a building?  Here are a few ideas to help you utilize the existing space that you already have.

Recruit Volunteers

Find some committed volunteers who want to use recreation in your church to reach people. Their enthusiasm will help you get started building a recreation ministry now.  You can build your ministry from scratch.  You may find that you do not need a building, only willing workers.

Share Vision

Cast a vision for using recreation as outreach.  Be sure your people see recreation as a ministry, not just play time.

Be Innovative

Pray and ask God to give you ideas as to what you can do in the space you have. Waiting until you have more space is a bad idea.  Start now, with what you have, and grow.

Use Local Resources

You can transform any environment into a place for recreation activity and ministry.  You might also contact area schools and public gyms for activities that need a big space.  It is much cheaper to rent a gym for an evening or even a year, than build a recreation building.

Facilities are not Limitations

Understand that your current facilities, or lack thereof, very rarely limit you.  Think big, dream big, and pray big.

Focus on Priorities

Focus on what matters most—using recreation to build bridges to lost people and seeing their lives transformed by the power of the Gospel.
